EVENT MANAGEMENT | CONFERENCE PLANNING
Challenge: Increase attendance and exposure of an annual public policy conference.
What We Did: Built awareness of the conference through increased social media participation.
Supplemented the meeting agenda with events that appealed to a wider audience: film screenings, private tours of local landmarks, book signings with popular authors.
Offered sponsorship packages that allowed donors to tap into their personal networks to invite clients/colleagues to the event.
Results: As a result of doubled attendance, client added a second annual conference due to the success of the initial conference. Elevated the level of speakers - high-tech CEO’s, Presidential candidates, news media personalities, Hollywood celebrities.
NON-PROFIT | INTEGRATED MEDIA CAMPAIGN
Challenge: Expand the existing traditional public relations strategy for the Annual Lombardi Gala to include digital and social media platforms
What We Did: Worked with the Georgetown University communications team to develop an integrated media outreach schedule, with overlapping content release dates and multiple news angles. New content focused telling the personal stories of cancer patients and survivors, as well as the individual healthcare professionals and researchers at the Cancer Center.
Reached out to Gala partner the National Football Players Association and other sponsors to distribute our content on their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.
Results: In addition to local TV coverage and print stories in eight DC area print publications, including The Washington Post, the social media footprint included first time inclusion on Twitter with Gala-related tweets/re-tweets by the NFLPA, individual NFL players, ESPN personalities and key business partner, reaching more than 11.6 million followers.
ASSOCIATION | TRADE SHOW DESIGN AND MARKETING
Challenge: Design and build an interactive booth to launch the AARP Grandparenting Foundation at the Annual AARP Consumer Trade Show
What We Did: Served as design and communications consultant responsible for the development of an interactive trade show booth, complete with multi-media equipment, that could be repurposed for use at smaller events across the country. Booked talent and Grandparenting experts to fill daily consumer show events calendar. Worked in partnership with AARP PR team to promote appearances from Sesame Street characters, authors and top educators.
Results: AARP staff and grandparenting experts reported the booth was a major success. Special enhancements including laptops with large keys, multi-lingual programs and a play area for grandchildren were some of the top highlights of the booth experience. Onsite survey showed that targeted media outreach to senior and educational publications and organizations drove 36% of booth traffic.
